MY FATHER, THOMAS E. BLACK, WAS BORN IN 1900 AND WAS A PILOT IN THE N.Y. POLICE AVIATION DIVISION. HE TRAINED AT CURTIS FIELD, VALLEY STREAM N.Y. AND KNEW CHARLES LINDBERGH, AS A CHILD I WAS THE TOLD HE WAS THE LAST ONE TO SHAKE HIS HAND BEFORE HE TOOK OFF ON HIS FAMOUS FLIGHT IN 1927 FROM ROOSEVELT FIELD. MY FATHER WAS ALSO A MOTORCYCLE POLICEMAN AND ESCORTED YOUR GRANDFATHER IN A PARADE (ALONG WITH OTHER POLICEMEN). THE PARADE WENT ALONG FT. HAMILTON PARKWAY, BROOKLYN N.Y. YEARS LATER, I SAW THE FILM OF THE PARADE ON TV. MY DAD WAS ALSO ASKED TO BE A WITNESS AT THE EXECUTION OF BRUNO RICHARD HAUPTMAN. IT WAS SO SAD WHEN THE BABY WAS KIDNAPED AND MURDERED.THE EXECUTION WAS IN 1936 IN TRENTON N.J.. WHEN I WORKED FOR J.P. MORGAN ON WALL STREET, I WAS ON THE ELEVATOR WITH CHARLES LINDBERGH IN THE 1940'S AND THAT WAS MY GREAT EXPERIENCE! MAY GOD BLESS YOU, AND HAVE A SAFE TRIP.
